Artem Chigvintsev, a famous Russian dancer who won a dancing show in 2010, was arrested in California on Thursday morning. Police were called to his home after a fight with his partner.
The police arrested Chigvintsev, who is 42 years old. He was taken to jail and his bail was set at $25,000. The police did not say if anyone was hurt. But they said that a felony domestic violence charge usually means that the police can see that the victim was hurt.
Chigvintsev first became famous when he danced on a popular TV show called Strictly Come Dancing in 2010. He danced with an actress named Kara Tointon. They won the show and started dating in real life.
Chigvintsev was on a British dance show called Strictly. He danced with a few different partners and did pretty well. Then, he moved to a similar show in the U.S. called Dancing With The Stars.
On Dancing With The Stars, he danced with Nikki Bella, a wrestler. They started dating and later had a baby boy. Nikki’s twin sister, Brie, also has a baby. They used to be on a show called Total Bellas.
Nikki and Artem got engaged in Paris and found out they were pregnant soon after. They got married in 2022 and recently celebrated their second anniversary. Artem was arrested, which surprised people because it happened shortly after his anniversary. We expect to learn more about the case soon.
