Walmart, a big store in the US, recently agreed to pay a lot of money because they were accused of charging customers too much for some things. The store was said to charge too much for food sold by weight. Even though Walmart said they didn’t do anything wrong, they agreed to pay money to avoid a long trial.
A lawsuit that affects many customers has been settled for $45 million. The money from the settlement will be given to the customers within two or three months after the final approval, which was given on June 12, 2024. This means that the customers will probably get their money in July or August 2024.
Who is Eligible to Get The Walmart Settlement?
If you want to get money back, you need to prove that you bought meat or other things sold by the pound from Walmart between October 19, 2018, and January 19, 2024.
Even though receipts can help you get more money, you don’t have to have them to make a claim. If you’re eligible, you need to fill out a claim form on Walmart’s settlement website before the deadline.
Settlement Payment Details
The amount each claimant receives will depend on whether they have retained their purchase receipts:
Claims with Receipts
If you can show us a receipt or other proof that you bought our products, we’ll give you back up to $500. The amount you’ll get depends on how much you spent on our weighted goods and packaged citrus products during the time we were offering this deal.”
Claims without Receipts
Customers who do not have receipts may still receive a payout, ranging from $10 to $25, depending on the number of items purchased.
- Customers who purchased 1-50 items are eligible to receive $10.
- Those who bought 51-75 items can claim $15.
- Purchasers of 76-100 items are entitled to $20.
- Those who purchased over 100 items will receive $25.

What to Expect After Submitting Your Claim
After you send in your claim form, someone will check it. If your claim is okay, you’ll get your money between August and September 2024.
Not everyone will get their money at the same time. It might take a few weeks for everyone to get paid. If the money starts going out in late August, most people should have their money by mid-September.
