The Kolkata Police had a job opening for Sub Inspectors. People could apply online from September 1st to 21st, 2023. Those who were chosen got their admission tickets on January 18th, 2024. The first exam was held on January 28th, 2024.
Only people who pass the preliminary exam will be allowed to continue in the job application process. This exam doesn’t count towards your final score. Later, there will be a bigger exam that will determine who gets the job.

The exam was taken in person, using a scantron sheet. There were 100 multiple-choice questions, each worth two points. You had 90 minutes to finish the test.
