The Canada Child Benefit (CCB) is money the Canadian government gives to parents every month to help with the cost of raising kids under 18. This money is not taxed and changes each year based on how much money the family earns and the cost of living.
Starting in July 2024, Canadian parents will get more money from the government to help pay for things that are getting more expensive. The amount of money they get will depend on how much they earn and will go up each year in July to match the rising prices.
The Minister of Families, Children, and Social Development, Jenna Sudds, along with the Minister of Diversity, Inclusion, and Persons with Disabilities, Kamal Khera, will visit Peel to announce an increase in the annual Canada Child Benefit aimed at assisting families with the rising cost of living. Following the announcement, there will be a photo opportunity and media availability.

Details on Claiming CCB Benefit Amount
To get Canada Child Benefit (CCB) money, you need to fill out a form. You can often do this at the hospital when your child is born. If you don’t, you can apply online through the government’s website.
You can also fill out a paper form and send it to the CRA. After they review and approve it, they will send your money directly to your bank account or by check. To make sure your payments keep coming, let the CRA know if your information changes.
Additional Support Initiative
The government already helps families with kids through the Canada Child Benefit. Now, they want to help even more by making childcare cheaper. They want the cost of childcare to be only $10 per day by the year 2026.
This program wants to help families by making childcare cheaper. This will let more parents work and make families better off financially across Canada.
We’re doing this to help families and make sure kids can go to good childcare.
